Very often people have this question, what is the future of ACCA
in India? Are students doing the right thing by opting for this course? Would
this eventually give us a fruitful career? Is it worth all the money and time
spent?
Well good news folks, the
answers to all the questions and many more around the future of ACCA in India
are positive. What do we mean by that? So let’s understand what do mean by
future, one would say a healthy and successful career! So when we think about a
successful career, first thing that comes to our minds are salaries. Therefore
if ACCA future has to be gauged we can always check the salaries paid to the
ACCA’s in India. It doesn’t take very long to do a Google search to find
average salaries for ACCA’s in India. For e.g. ACCA member with 5 – 7 years of
experience can be easily look at 15 to 20 lacs p.a. of salary. Similarly a
fresh ACCA affiliate, someone with no experience, can easily look at salaries
starting from 4 lacs plus. For undergraduates too, students who are done with
5-9 papers, salaries range from 2 lacs to 3.5 lacs. Therefore by now you would
have realised the salaries made by ACCA folks are fairly in line with other
highly qualified professions like CA or CMA.
Similarly when we talk about
career, we also want to know if there are jobs at Big 4’s, Big Banks, MNC’s
etc. Again a quick search on Google will tell you that majority of the jobs
that are posted for ACCA are mostly from Big4’s like EY, PWC, KPMG and
Deloitte. Also big banks like JP Morgan, Credit Suisse, UBS are always looking
for ACCA professionals due to their command over IFRS and Management
Accounting. Even Indian MNC’s like TATA, Wipro, WNS. Etc. are hiring ACCA’s for
multiple positions.
Therefore if we look at future
both from salary and organisations which are hiring, both look very promising.
Hence it is safe to assume that the future of ACCA in India is very bright. And for any one still unsure about it, its always
safe to do a bit of research. LinkedIn is a good platform to check with actual
professionals who have done ACCA. We spoke to Zaheer Sayed, ACCA who is
currently a director at a leading training and has in past worked for EY, UBS,
NHS (UK) etc. and his quote was “ACCA has been a game changer for me, it gave
me success and fortune that no other qualification could have. I will always
suggest everyone to go for non-conventional courses, and ACCA by far is the
best.”
To summarise, go ahead and take
up the course, because if you don’t, there are others who are already doing it
and they will be ahead of you in this very competitive job environments.
